ABOUT PHILLBILL
PhillBill, born Diyani Bill Munyenge on 27 December 1991 in Buea, Cameroon, is a singer, songwriter, music producer and sound engineer — and the creator of BIKOSSA, a contemporary sound built on Cameroon's musical heritage.
A Performing & Visual Arts graduate of the University of Buea, he travelled to Nigeria in 2008 to develop his production skills before returning home as PhillBill Beatz. His production work spans records by Blanche Bailly, Ko-C, Mimie, Daphne and Locko — including several tracks on Locko's album Era, certified Gold in France — and Paris Fever, the collaboration between Senegal's Wally Seck and Chris Brown.
With the group Ridimz (formerly Rythmz) he released Honeymoon, the EP Addiction and the hit Shabasiko. As a solo artist he has since released La Clé, Bikossa, Malova, Même Si Tu Pars, Sélé, Condiment and TÈTÈRI, which passed 2.4 million YouTube views within months of release.
In June 2025 he released The SoundMan, an eight-track EP blending Afropop, Amapiano, Soul and Trap with Cameroonian influences, launched with a 100% live concert at the Institut Français du Cameroun in Douala. In August 2026, BBC World Service's This Is Africa devoted an episode to his career, and in October 2026 he won Best Central African Artist at the Afromada Music Awards in Madagascar.
